GEOG 4800 - Capstone Experience in Geography Capstone course that encourages the implementation of acquired knowledge from previous course work. Involves an examination and application of topics relating to the history and philosophy of geographic thought.
Requisites: GEOG major and Sr only Credit Hours: 3 General Education Code: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Critically evaluate recent research in the student’s sub-field and identify the implications for their own research and professional interests.
- Describe emerging trends in the major sub-fields of academic Geography and their applications outside of academia.
- Synthesize the material from courses for the major and situate course material within the history, philosophy, and development of science and the discipline of Geography.
