DSI 2830 - Interpreting and Transliterating Techniques II Continues to build on the theoretical and practical foundations established in DSI 2820. Focuses on real-world interpreting/transliterating situations within a wide range of contexts.
Requisites: C or better in DSI 2820 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Apply the demand and control schema in a variety of interpreting settings.
- Demonstrate expressive and receptive topic-specific vocabulary signs relating to interpreting and transliterating.
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret/transilterate unfamiliar texts across a range of settings.
- Describe the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct and apply this to various scenarios to determine ethical practices.
- Evaluate his/her performance and identify areas of need.
