Program Overview

The Human Services major leads to a Bachelor of Applied Human and Consumer Sciences. This is a bachelor completion degree, appropriate for students who have earned an associate’s degree as a 2 + 2 option and/or at least 60 semester hours at an accredited institution. Skill and competencies developed include: customer and personal services, societal trends and influences, group behavior and dynamics, diversity issues, ethnicity and culture.

No requirements beyond University admission requirements. This is a bachelor completion degree, so incoming students must have earned at least 60 semester hours at an accredited institution.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

Career opportunities associated with the Human Services major include, but are not limited to, Human Service Assistants in settings such as residential facilities and community agencies. Work environments may be home, school, or community based. Degree holders are prepared to enter graduate programs such as Counseling, Social Work, and Psychology.

Electives


Complete three additional general elective courses to reach 120 hours needed for graduation. Potential specialty areas include rehabilitation, health care administration, human services, communication, business and leadership, and organization.
