DANC 2040 - Dance Technique II Jazz Continues the development of materials from Dance 1040 and introduces more challenging and complex movement skills and jazz dance combinations. It requires a higher degree of stamina, strength and flexibility than Dance 1040 and begins to emphasize the aesthetic and expressive elements of Jazz dance performance.
Requisites: DANC 1040 Credit Hours: 1.5 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 2.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 studio Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Student will demonstrate advance understanding of musicality (rhythms, meters, and phrasing) within movement combinations given.
- Student will physically demonstrate understanding of intermediate level technical skills, and artistic qualities and execute them in various spatial planes and pathways with clarity and artistic ownership.
- Student will recognize, utilize and apply vocabulary terms given in class.
- Student will show evidence of reflection upon and application of goals, achievements and understandings, dealing with in-class materials and readings as evidence through daily performance, mid-quarter and final reflection sheets, journal entries,
- Student will understand one’s body orientation in space in given movement combinations.
