MUS 1210 - Introduction to World Music Provide a survey of music as it exists in many cultures. As an introduction to the study of world music students will experience and understand the values and meaning of music in the lives of diverse human communities.
Credit Hours: 3 General Education Code: 2CP Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to identify the basic musical elements used in music of other cultures.
- Students will understand and be able to identify the cultural context of some representative examples of world music.
