AAS 2020 - African American History II, 1876 to late twentieth century Examines a series of topics (economic, demographic, social, cultural and political) in African American history from 1876 to the late twentieth century. The evolution of race relations is an important component of this course, but the major emphasis will be placed on the internal experiences of ordinary African Americans, within the framework of larger socioeconomic and political processes in U.
