DANC 3231 - Advanced Dance Composition II Continuation of 3230. The synthesis of choreographic elements, devices, and musical or sound choices into studies having a sense of form and content.
Requisites: DANC 3230 and BFA Dance Major Credit Hours: 2 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 4.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to discuss choreographic structure in their own and others’ work, write descriptively and evaluate about choreography, and critique dance in a constructive manner.
- Students will craft a group dance using concepts that support, sustain, and enhance the choreographic concept including use of music/sound, costume, lighting, text, etc.
- Students will demonstrate increased sophistication in improvisation as a tool of movement invention.
- Students will utilize increasingly inventive and qualitatively dynamic movement vocabulary to communicate ideas through dance choreography.
