EH 4400 - Occupational Safety and Health Provides knowledge and understanding of processes involved in the development and implementation of environmental health and safety programs. Focuses on design, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of workplace safety programs, with emphasis on inspection programs, planning, administration, and communication. Extensive coverage of OSHA regulations and OSHA 30- and 40-hour safety training.
Requisites: EH 2000 or OHS 2000 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to identify industrial hazards for which regulations exist.
- Students will be able to apply federal regulations and best practices to injury and risk reduction.
- Students will be able to explain safety science techniques to identify unsafe workplaces.
- Students will be able to describe the safety profession within the health, safety, environment paradigm.
