FR 3540 - Introduction to Reading French Literature Designed to prepare students for advanced literature classes. Emphasis on developing literary interpretive skills through close analysis of French and/or Francophone prose, drama, and poetry.
Requisites: FR 3110 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The successful student applies tools for literary analysis orally and in writing.
- The successful student exchanges and evaluates individual textual interpretations orally and in writing.
- The successful student exhibits sufficient proficiency in the written and spoken language to write a short textual analysis and present and defend a textual interpretation orally.
- The successful student understands and appreciates a variety of genres and literary traditions.
