GEOG 3260 - Urban Geography Geographical survey of the processes and forms of urban settlements. Examines urban origin, urban system, urban spatial structure, suburbanization, urban planning, (de)industrialization, inner-city decline, gentrification, entrepreneurial politics, cultural economy and globalization. This course includes significant writing and revision.
Requisites: GEOG 1200 or 1310 or 2500 or SOC 1000 and Jr or Sr Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to explain the urban impact of globalization, including declining industrial cities in Ohio.
- Students will be able to relate various models and theories of urban changes to their everyday experiences of urban environments.
- Students will have a substantial knowledge of the causes, processes, and consequences of urban changes.
