MDIA 1020 - Media Storytelling and the Creative Process Students learn the fundamental aspects of successful storytelling, creative practice and collaboration in contemporary media formats, platforms and industries.
Requisites: MDIA major or OR5375 minor and (C or better in MDIA 1010) OR Applied Communication Major Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 1.0 discussion Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe the fundamental aspects of storytelling and concept development as they relate to contemporary media formats
- Students will be able to apply fundamental concepts in storytelling to their own work through creative exercises and peer feedback
- Students will be able to explain key concepts in understanding creativity and apply the concepts in their own creative process
- Students will be able to identify and apply methods for productive collaboration through class exercises and group projects
