MDIA 4700 - Nonfiction Storytelling and Documentary Production Prepares students for work in the video production profession and further their knowledge of nonfiction video production techniques that might be found in documentary, corporate/industrial videos or reality television production. Through this process students will develop their creative voice and storytelling abilities.
Requisites: MDIA 2700 and (MDIA 2135 or 2132) Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Critical analysis of current documentary trends for implementation in the course.
- Learn techniques for capturing and editing high quality material in real-word situations.
- Learn to take a non-fiction video project from proposal to distribution.
- Understand the foundations of the documentary genre and how they can be applied to documentary productions.
