ML 2492 - Preparation for Study Abroad: France Prepares students to study abroad in France. Covers linguistic, cultural and other practical matters related to traveling and study abroad.
Requisites: Permission required Credit Hours: 1 - 2 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The successful student will acquire a basic understanding of various aspects of daily life in the target (host) country such as: money, public transportation, shopping, etc.
- The successful student will comprehend basic concepts of the socio-economic, linguistic, and political layout of the host country.
- The successful student will demonstrate a rudimentary knowledge of the culture of the host country such as: food and dining, etiquette, interpersonal relationships, etc.
- The successful student will understand culturally appropriate behavior in the host country such as safety, travel, alcohol consumption, etc.
