MUS 2810 - Observation, Evaluation, and Research in Music Therapy Observation and evaluation skill development through classroom videotape, and field data collection and analysis; tests and evaluations; research methods and their application to clinical investigations.
Requisites: MUS 1810 and (Soph or Jr or Sr) Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be introduced to the skills needed for music therapy clinical practice without patient/client care responsibilities.
- Students will collect and evaluate data from field observation.
- Students will critique assessment tools in order to develop their own for a specific population.
- Students will learn to develop appropriate treatment objectives. Write up a treatment plan based on assessment data/baseline data collected during observations.
- Students will observe a student practicum team at least 4 times during the quarter.
- Students will understand and apply techniques of clinical observation and assessment.
- Students write up a treatment plan based on assessment data/baseline data collected during observations.
