PETE 4000 - Curriculum and Instruction for Physical Education and Health Education This course is designed to provide pre-service teachers opportunities to examine main theme curricula in physical education and health education. Pre-service teachers investigate and analyze the interconnected relationships of planning, teaching, assessment, learning and reflection within curriculum.
Requisites: Jr or Sr Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe and articulate the interconnected relationship of curriculum and instruction.
- Students will be able to evaluate and analyze main theme curricula models.
- Students will be able to align learning outcomes with professional teaching standards.
- Students will be able to design learning segments aligned best teaching pedagogical practices.
- Students will be able to advocate for standards-based health education and physical education curricula.
