T3 4361 - Gender Roles and Global Media Draws on mass media studies, international studies, and women’s studies to gain insight into gender roles portrayed in other nations’ mass media.
Requisites: 6 Hours in Tier II Social Science and Sr only Credit Hours: 3 General Education Code (students who entered prior to Fall 2021-22): 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Demonstrate an understanding of gender, race ethnicity, sexual orientation and, as appropriate, other forms of diversity in domestic society in relation to mass communications.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the diversity of peoples and cultures and of the significance and impact of mass communications in a global society.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the history and role of professionals and institutions in shaping communications.
