DSI 2170 - English and the Interpreter Designed to enhance English and sign vocabulary. Examines such things as lexical substitutions in interpreting, commonly confused terminology, English idioms, prefixes and suffixes, etc.
Requisites: DSI 1810 Credit Hours: 2 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will examine English idioms, their meaning, and interpreting strategies.
- Students will examine prefixes and suffixes in high register words to determine meaning.
- Students will identify the main topic of a paragraph, monologue, dialogue, etc.
- Students will improve their English vocabulary.
