MAT 1010 - Introduction to Medical Assisting Introduction to the career of medical assisting. Topics included are the roles and responsibilities of a medical assistant; an overview of the medical assisting profession and its credentialing; the safety, health, and liability issues in this profession; the professional behaviors required; and the communication skills and interpersonal relationships necessary for the medical assisting field.
