MDIA 2700 - Video and Audio Field Production Students apply the theory of video and audio production through practice in the field. Students utilize a variety of concepts related to camera operation and composition, sound recording, as well as lighting for video.
Requisites: MDIA 1450 or EM2160 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe the basic theories, principles, and purposes of video and audio production.
- Students will be able to identify and execute the correct steps in the technical operation of video cameras, lighting equipment, and audio recording devices.
- Students will be able to practice the principles of image composition, image exposure, focal distance, and camera movement in real world environments.
- Students will be able to practice the principles of microphone selection and placement in real world environments.
- Students will be able to practice the principles of audio recording techniques in real world environments.
- Students will be able to appraise the skills learned in the course and produce an original video/audio project.
