Program Overview
The mathematics minor provides an opportunity for students in mathematics-related majors an opportunity to engage in coursework that further develops their mathematics skills and knowledge. A mathematics minor is also a way for students in non-mathematics related majors to engage in coursework that is challenging, stimulating, and enjoyable.

Opportunities Upon Graduation
The most common reason to get a minor in mathematics is that the knowledge and skills that students learn will help in whatever pursuits they undertake. Employers and graduate schools value these skills and are often impressed by the intellectual rigor represented by the attainment of a minor in mathematics.

Program Requirements
For a minor in mathematics, a student must complete 20 semester credit hours in mathematics courses at the 2000-level or above, including at least 9 hours in mathematics courses at the 3050-level or above. (Note: The following courses are excluded from fulfilling program requirements: MATH 2110 , MATH 2120 , MATH 3000 , MATH 4100 , MATH 4100L , and MATH 4150 .)
